Yukata and Kimono

Yukata is different from kimono in that it is made of thinner material and easier to wear. You can put it on yourself, while kimono must be put on for you. Both types wear wooden sandals called geta, but yukata does not wear socks, while kimono must wear socks called tabi.

Kimono

Kimono is often worn on formal occasions such as coming-of-age ceremonies, graduation ceremonies, weddings, etc. (The type of kimono worn varies depending on the occasion), while yukata is a casual outfit
